HouseWoke started in a kitchen.
In 2024 we tried to buy a frying pan that wasn't coated in something. Eight hours of reading ingredient lists, lab reports and IARC monographs later, we had two options — and a folder with 60 PDFs of peer-reviewed studies.
It became obvious that the bottleneck for most people who want a less-toxic home isn't willingness. It's information. So we built a shop that's actually a research project — every product comes with what it replaces, what's in the replaced thing, and the citation that says so.
We are based in Guernsey. We ship UK-wide. We use Revolut for payments because it's British-built and 70% cheaper on small orders than Stripe.
